Project Description:

As part of the construction project of a new laboratory, and given the complexity of the project-particularly in terms of interface management between the various trades-TotalEnergies entrusted us with the 3D coordination and synthesis mission based on the BIM methodology. The objective was to deliver, at the end of the assignment, a complete federated project model enabling the extraction of all Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, covering all disciplines. The 3D coordination process was managed on the collaborative platform Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

• Improve project visualization and enhance understanding of the 3D interfaces between all technical trades, thereby optimizing 3D coordination and constructability review processes.
• Strengthen coordination and interface management across construction documents.
• Centralize coordination tracking and validation processes through the federated model, making them fully collaborative.
• Reduce data re-entry by enabling shared, real-time access for all stakeholders.
• Anticipate clashes and interferences during the pre-construction phase.
• Deliver a final IFC federated model enabling efficient production of construction drawings and improving on-site productivity.

Project scope of work:

• ACC Management: Administration of the Common Data Environment (CDE), validation of model uploads, and control of document sharing workflows.
• Reference Model Management: ACC configuration and development of the reference model ensuring proper georeferencing (grids, levels, coordinates, etc.).
• Drafting and enforcement of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and Work Instructions (WI).
• Aggregation of 3D models from all trades/packages into a federated model.
• Conduct coordination and summary meetings.
• Technical Arbitration: Resolution of routing conflicts between CVC, HVAC systems, piping networks, CFO, CFA, FSS.
• Quality Control: Model audits to ensure compliance with our BIM standards (LOD requirements, naming, GHOST model structure).
• Continuous update and consolidation of the federated model throughout the project lifecycle until delivery of the final IFC federated model at LOD 350/400.
